Welcome to the FARMily!
Lavender Farm Mission
To be part of the community and create a self-sustaining farm, where people, family and friends can come and enjoy the view, atmosphere, and the harvests of our love and labor.
About
Welcome to Firesky Farms, we are Shannon and Sabrina Harwell.
We are native Arizonans and have the privilege of saying we were married in Sierra Vista, AZ in 1988; you can do the math…
We have had many adventures in this time span, with the greatest being raising two beautiful daughters. Over the last three decades life and careers have led us to live in 3 different places in AZ and 2 in California. But, in our hearts, we always knew, we’d come back home to southern Arizona, which we did in 2020.
Both of us were raised in and around southern Arizona, particularly Tucson and Sierra Vista as kids, so we have a strong love and familiarity with the area. Funny thing is we used to drive through Sonoita/Elgin, AZ as teenagers and comment that it was beautiful and would be a great place to retire.
Well, here we are, to that point in life where you start thinking about your future (again). Something different, slower, in-tune with the Earth, community, more rewarding; Farming in Sonoita/Elgin, AZ.
We started planning our lavender farm in 2020 and had our first harvest in 2022. We opened our Farm Store in July of 2023 and are open most weekends. We are also attending many events and Farmers Markets in Sierra Vista and Tucson. Please check out our Calendar page for upcoming events and hours.
Thank you again to everyone that came out for our 2nd annual Firesky Farms Lavender Harvest and Wine Festival!
Here is a highlight video we had made of the event.
Lets do it again next year, bigger and better!

Plans
Looking Forward 2025 and 2026:
- We now have 7000 lavender plants and 18 varieties in our lavender farm.
- We planted 160 Olive trees with 7 varieties in 2024 and they just didn’t make it through our very cold winters. We hit 7 degrees twice in 2024. No worries, we’re going to take them out and add more apple and pear trees in 2026, about 130 of them
- The 2nd annual 2025 Lavender Harvest and Wine Festival was a big hit with ~1450 folks visiting. The 3rd annual 2026 will be even bigger. We’re looking to add a few more fun things for that event. It will be June 27, 2026 and tickets will be available a few moths before, here on the website.
- If you’re interested in volunteering for the festival, please reach out to us. We appreciate everyone’s support! We certainly couldn’t do it without the great volunteers we have supporting us. Thank you!
- It’s going to be a busy winter. This years focus will be on clearing, leveling, and graveling where the festival tents are to be set up. And also getting our online store up and running.
- We will continue to support other festivals and farmers markets, so keep track of all events on the “Calendar” page of our website and follow us on Facebook and Instagram.
